My grandfather got one--he's claustrophobic, but apparently it wasn't too big of a deal to him. For the scan to take place, you lie down on a sort of long 'tray,' and are then brought into a small tube-like capsule thing. A scanner runs for about 15 minutes, during which time you should remain relatively still for the sake of accuracy. I imagine that's the only uncomfortable thing about it.

"Computerized axial tomography" That is allopathic for a massive overdose of Xrays. This is part of the "Legal" medicine, where they give you bunches of tests that don't help a bit, but they have evidence for when you die that they did everything they could. Basically it is almost always a waste of time and money and a great overdose of X-rays, which are of course radioactive, and damaging.

It is a machine that takes pictures of the inside of your head. Does not hurt takes 15 minutes. My 2 year old had one no big deal. Piece of cake!

My whole body had to go through the machine ("don't move a muscle");due to a rare ovarian cancer they wanted to look everywhere...I was allergic to the dye, and broke out in itchy hives, ew.
