The movie is good, but the play is soo much better. If you want to see it you really should see it live. If you can't do that then I would go ahead and rent the movie.

Its worth seeing once, but maybe not too many times. I loved it, and the sound track is great. One song glory, seasons of love, finale b, and another day are my faves. You should definetly give it a chance. Its alittle sad though, but only one person dies in the movie. In the theatre production two people die. Its also the same people in the movie as in the musical, or at least most of them are, so they are all really singing.

It is a very good movie. It is sad but it has a very good message to it. I don't care very much for musicals but I love Rent. I actually went out and bought it.

I love the music either way, but seeing it live is way better than the movie. But i didn't think the movie was too bad. It's a ridiculously good musical.

Not compared to the broadway show. It's interesting that most of them are the same actors/actresses that put on the first show.
If you've never seen it before on/off broadway - then you probably won't enjoy it. It doesn't compare movie-wise to Chicago or that other one with Nicole Kidman

Im not one for musicals by any means but this was surprisingly nice...especially the opening song I cant lie it made me cry the first time I heard it...it was just absolutely gorgeous...its different so if thats what youre in the mood for then yes!

If you appreciate musicals, you might like it. There are also a lot of gay relationships worked into the story, so if you can't sympathize with a gay couple, you probably won't enjoy it as much. But, the songs are great- you'll be humming them for weeks!

I like it. The reason i like it is because it's one of those movies that you can watch without really watching it. Like I can do the dishes or something and have it going. I also like Ray, Moulin Rouge, and O Brother where art thou for the same reason.

i personally think it is an amazing movie...i love the songs and the cast. they are great. and the whole plot is just so moving.
