When will I ever use chemical reactions in real life, if my career doesn't involve science?

The purpose of an education is partly to prepare you just in case, you do find out you have an interest. Its hard to know until you've tried.

Generally, its good to have some understanding about the world around you and where our knowledge comes from. This can prevent you from being duped later.

They aren't required to take it in my school, but I think they just want to broaden your horizons.
