If you both become imancipated from your parents you legally become adults as far as contracts go. Your parents have to be willing to give up custudy of you in the courts. At that point you are on your own and are responsible for everything on your own. If you parents have you covered under their insurance something like this is not practical. Have a baby is a huge deal. It is not easy. $75 a day is a lot for a 16 year old, but in the real world with all the real bills of taking care of yourself and a baby it equals chump change. Don't want to be mean, but think this moving out of your own thing A LOT of thinking first. Talk to all parents envolved and make sure this is the best choice for the baby first and then for you. You guys pretending to be adults in all areas is the least important thing when it somes to the best interest of the baby. Your actions now will effect your baby forever so think thing all the way through an LISTEN to the adults in your life, they aren't against you they only want what is best for you and the baby given the situation you are in. If you are living on your own how are you going to finish school and take care of the baby. A GED is NOT the way to go. Finishing high school for real will be hard, but it is the choice you should make. Also, is public housing the way you really want to go??? 100% of the people that live there probably wish they had another choice. If living with your parents for a while to save up money to get a real start in life is what you need to do to avoid public housing it is something you need to do. Once you get into public housing and you are collecting WIC and other government assistance it is going to be very hard to every crawl back up into regular society.

In Australia, depending on where you are, public waiting lists are up as high as 7 years. As some people have 3 or 4 kids or disabilitys they go way ahead in the line from these kids. They should aim to spend only a quarter of their income on rent. But on $375 thats impossible. Also they will need equal to 4 weeks rent for bond and rent two weeks ahead. I hate to be a downer but they may have to sit tight until things get a bit better financially.

The best thing to do is get a Co-Signer. Parents are good for this but if they are not supportive try aunts or uncles. Just remember if you have trouble with the rent, go back to the co signer for help. As if you default it will go on them and then on thier Credit.
I was 16 when i got married and had my child. It's actually worked out well. Finish school reguardless of how tough it is. It is NOT easier to go back when your child is older. Same level of difficulty no matter how old your kid is (unless he's independent and driving himself everywhere). And education is beyond important for making money later on in life.

You cant sign a lease because you are not a legal adult. If you failed to pay rent they would have no way to sue you because you have to be 18 to sign a legal contract.
You still have a lot of growing up to do. You may not think so, but you do. I wish you the best of luck with your new child.

first of all that is so fu*ked up that they are not allowed 2 sign the lease
cuz socitiy today talks a bout stastics
and this is a perfect example that socity is forsing it on us
i know cuz im 13 and socity has a imige set in their mind about us
and they honestly are the ones that are bring us to this point
any ways for your question...............
well they could get an apartment and get a guaranteer
that means that someone older and with a bigger bank balance has to sign the lease papers to guarantee that they will pay the rent on time
good luck to the couple
