I was watching a movie on TV a girl was wearing a white knee-leinght tight skirt. She rips it straight across to make it a really shor miniskirt all the way around? What is the "Movie Trick" to make this possible.???

There are many ways that skirt-ripping could happen. Like it is mentioned before, the skirt could very well be specially processed to allow clean ripping: a two-part skirt that is well-disguised to appear to one flawless skirt.

Also, another possibility is that the fabric could be easily ripped, especially silk. Given a small hole, or a small crack at the end of a silk cloth, the whole piece can be ripped into very easily.

They pre-cut the skirt and then sew it there not too tightly but in a color thread that is EXACTLY the same as the skirt so it does'nt show, therefore making it easier to make a clean rip, sort of, lol.

Ok ok, honestly i'm not positive but i think that makes the most sense, i've always wondered about that too!! LOL
