I get sick and tired of ppl "black" that are always saying something about racism. Im not a racist, never was, and never will be, but I am tired of "well its b/c im black"!!!! Our ancestors are the ones that did slavery not this generation, GET OVER IT. You all are just as equal as I am, but yet you still get mad over little things. Just b/c your black doesnt mean you should get a job before anyone else and doesnt mean you should get money for college. Study hard like everyone else and get loans and grants for school, stop waiting for a handout. Remember Martin L. King wasnt no angel, he had a lot of skeletons in his closet and by the way it was a white man who helped free the slaves..........Abraham Lincoln. Just my opinion!!!

I agree with for most part. Yes, Martin Luther King is not perfect, but so many leaders that people today idolize. Abraham Lincoln's freeing of the slaves was much about political timing rather than compassion towards Blacks. Freeing slaves meant destroying the South's economy. However, he didn't wanted it carried right away for fear of backlash it may cause by permiting Blacks to kill Whites. Even when Blacks were freed, they intially were not allowed to join the Union forces. When African-Americans eventually got their chance to serve, their pay was lower than that of the Whites. Even though Lincoln was against slavery, he still had a racist attitude towards Blacks like most Whites of his time. He once told a group of African-Americans that even if they were to be freed, the differences between the two races were too vast be associated with one another.

The tragic story of slavery is about far more than the Atlantic Slave trade. The Indian Ocean Slave trade, and the history of African slavery in Islam went on for centuries. For hundreds of years the coasts of Europe and the sea routes to the Americas were plagued by North African pirates who carried vast numbers of white slaves to the Barbary States - the US fought a couple of wars at the beginning of the nineteenth century to end it. Slavery in China is another horror story - the number of slaves who died building the Great Walls ran into many millions. For a number of centuries most inhabitants of Russia were "serfs" - a form of agricultural slavery. Because the black slaves who went to North America were unusual in that they survived and had descendants their story is remembered. Most slave populations in history left few survivors or descendants to tell their tale or lament their fate.
Oh, and in England William Wilberforce started the world wide abolition of slavery - a process that the US resisted until after the Civil War. Also, the Czar of Russia freed all the serfs in his realm before Lincoln and the Republicans managed to do so in the US.

Hey, I say "it's because I'm black" as a joke. I don't know about anyone else. Sounds like you have some anger issues that YOU need to get over. So get over it! And forgeting about slavery like it never happened it not the answer. I slavery and racism need to be discussed more, because trying to "forget" about it just makes the people who feel this way more resentful. So stop being angry because your ancestors are crappy. Maybe you should seek therapy.

It's like in Boondox, when Huey's Grandpa was spouting off about how he paved the way for other blacksm,
and Hughey looed at his grandpa and asked, "well, were YOU there?"

And of course the reply was no,
the point was, the whole race tries to take credit for what only a few did.

Take credit for YOUR life's works, and not your ancestors.

The only reason this practice of blacks playing the race card and being racist still exists today is because white people allow it to.

Of course racist people will rate this thumbs down...watch

We should cherish minorities within society. You main goal should be to establish bonds of friendship with people of other backgrounds, not to drive them away.
