As a black person, give me the summer over winter anyday. I love the heat, I also love the way the sun makes my skin even darker.
Right now, it's so cold I can't even leave my house. In summer, the air is so fresh-smelling, it puts you in the mood for the beach, you can go out whereever you want but not so in winter. The cold is torture. I know there will be extremely hot days but nothing beats summer.

As for the second part of your question. There are less black people north because this dates back to simple evolution. Black people have the skin and features designed for very hot climates. That's why in Africa we had developed pigment less prone to skin cancer.

White people are from Europe, a place where there is not that much sunlight as Africa. There is no need for them to have dark skin for a colder and less sunny environment, therefore they have less pigment or melanin.

Do you think that it only gets cold the further north you get? Remember the earth is round (sphere shaped actually) so the further south you get it would also get cold right? (North AND South poles) So if the stereotype is that black people hate the cold then why would there be black people in places like Australia (Aborigines) and South Africa?

I think hot and cold climates are enjoyed and hated by a whole heap of different people and it's neither black, white, yellow or even purple that can be stereotyped into a like of a certain climate. Either you like hot weather or you dont. Either you like cold weather or you dont... and if you dont like it you dont live there!

No there is no truth in it. There are plenty of blacks around the great lakes region and New York City, though only a quarter black, still boats the largest black population of any city (by sheer number). Detroit is like 90% black, 115 percent depending on where you're at. Chicago is still 37% black, despite growing numbers of Hispanics. Most cities in Ohio are still evenly split between black and white.

Some of us actually do like the cold. I don't anymore, though I used to at one time.

Do white people love the cold is a better question.

I can only speak for myslef. But I hate the cold.

Sunshine makes my skin tingle!

Although, the first city in the US founded by a black person was Chicago and its damm chilly up there.

Lighter people are more adapt to colder weather. Black people have more melonoin in their skin and can handle heat and sun better than the typical whites. They are however, more at risk for Squamous cell carcinoma in the sun (much rarer than the number of whites exposed to the same amounts of sun). It is all in our genes. Embrace the diversity! You can live wherever, just take the necessary precautions to protect yourself. Peace.

How is this a racist question? He is asking if it is a sterotype or not.

Anyway; I'm pretty sure it is just a sterotype.

i find it true that the farther north you go, the less out spread blacks are. there are still a good number, but they are more concetrated.
most northern states were settled by european immigrants. not too many black people.
many slaves, when liberated. stayed in the south. there were more slaves in the south than in the north.
