Seriously, you are going to get the info for one-fourth of your grade from dumba**es like us? Bad idea.

Patriarchal culture is a culture in which males dominate and run the social structure of said culture. Most patriarchal cultures are also patrilineal, which means lineage is traced through the male/fathers instead of the mothers. Look around dudes, a huge majority of cultures from, say, 2000 bce have been patriarchal. Just pick one.

The Israelites were considered patriarchal. I believe it has to do with how they are aligned as far as geneology. If you read the ancestry passages in the Bible, they very rarely mention the women. Only highly prominent women show up. God is called the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The men are the primary citizens of the society.
