Nice and warm at the moment as it is summer here, but v cold in Winter.
I am a student on 3rd degree so cannot afford heating. The house was built in 1880 and has no insulation. It is in a gully that gets no sun for 3 months in the winter so it gets covered in a sort of permafrost. It's also kind of rickety so there is always a draught running through the place. In the day time it's usually about 3 degrees warmer outside than in. More than that when it has been snowing. Occasionally I get given some firewood for doing odd jobs. This is bliss, the cat and I huddle around the fire with the draught around our ankles dreaming of when I graduate (about 2010) and can afford electricity.

A comfortable 72 degrees, thank you. Now if you are freezing your family to save on energy bills, shame on you! It is only money. You'll get more and you have to spend it somewhere anyway. TURN UP THE HEAT and be comfortable in your home. It's too cold to be a miser!

I have a very old house with lots of drafts. It is frigid in here. I have the heat set on 70, but it doesn't help. I refuse to live here next winter if I don't get the problem fixed.

We hate paying $300/month for natural gas so we keep the house at 55 degrees F, wear bundles of clothes, have an electric blanket on the bed, and use a couple of strategically spaced space heaters.

Do you mean temperatures or are you talking cold in relation to how you feel? If its temp then I will say 70 degrees, if its how I feel around my family then I will say very warm!

We keep our thermostat set at 65, year round. Saves money in the winter, costs a bundle in the summer. But hey, we're comfy!!
