How about getting each girl a single carnation (pink not red it for passion). Tie a white ribbon (spool of ribbon is about $3.95) on it and hand it to each one. You can buy them buy the dozen for about $7.00 at market. And if you want buy a box of valentine cards the kids give to there friend in school, that will cost about $4.00 or less. You are not being cheat you are being thrifty. It the thought that count and not the value

Chocolate!! Everyone loves chocolate. ;) You didn't specify how many friends you have. If you have 50, maybe you could buy each a little 99 cent box of chocolate -- after all, it is the thought that counts anyway. If you have 5, splurge on something bigger.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, it will depend, if you have a lot of friends, just buy a 24 rose bucket at costco ($14.99) and give one to everybody, if they are only a few, buy them candles, is the only thing they will use for more than a week. Also you may want to go to "Bath and Body Works" or "Victoria's Secret" and get them a small bottle of pocket lotion...smell them before you buy them.

chocolates from hotel chocolat.. they make lots of nice chocolates with fresh ideas, quite possibly more suited to the theme of valentines day than generic ones you can buy from supermarkets or pharmacies.
