Pop music, in all its flavors is something I have always relished. From eighties icons like Phil Collins and Sting, to modern day bands like Snow Patrol, I think pop music has contributed much to our varied musical landscape.
Hip hop and rap I will not even accord the dignity to call them music. To me hip-hop and rap cannot be called music because there is hardly ever a melody in their pieces, and melody is a fundamental aspect of music. Furthermore, no other “artistic expression” denigrates family, women, and is just a plain insult to everything good in society as much as hip hop and rap.
