i think the wild will because they have a good goalie in fernandez and they have a lot of weapons on offense like rolston, gaborik, boochard, and demitra.

OK, lets get real here.

I think there will be a repeat of the 2003 final (Anaheim vs. New Jersey) with Anaheim winning.

Lots of other teams would not terribly surprise me: Detroit, Buffalo, San Jose come to mind.

But Minnesota and Toronto are not 2 of those teams. Nor Pittsburgh, which I'm sure someone will answer.

And by the way, Good Goalies do not win Stanley Cups. Great Goalies do.

some people are weighing in with good answers. yes great goalies win cups and yes any number of teams in the west have a better goalie and more scoring than the wild. a lot of people are overlooking the flames, though. Kiprusoff is as good as any goalie in the west, including Luongo (and i'm in fort lauderdale). picking up Craig Conroy early will be big, too. this club has more grit and toughness than any other and despite the new rules, that is still second only to goaltending when it comes to winning the Cup.

nashville is tearing up the league but, in the playoffs, i don't think their goaltending is experienced enough to see them through. the ducks will be tough to beat with both pronger and niedermayer but injuries are a huge question mark here.

calgary is winning big games, coming back when behind and playing great through injuries to key players. they're my pick out of the west.

in the east, brodeur is the best between the pipes and the devils are playing as well as anyone except the sabres. the sabres have injury problems, though, making their d questionable. i think it's a tossup between these 2 with the habs and g cristobal huet a darkhorse candidate.

I want to say the Sabres, they've got the offense and a defense that is good but they don't need them to win a game for them. The same thing goes for the goalie. BUT, they are from Buffalo, so if they win, you know that the world will be ending shortly thereafter.

I think that Anaheim will win the cup in 7 over the Sabres.

The Atlanta Thrashers!
Such promise and skill in both Kovalchuk and Hossa. Plus the veteran Leadership of both Bobby Holik and Steve Ruchin. Hossa is so good on the line with Kozlov. Exelby is such a great hitter. And they have an excellent goalie in Lehtonnen.

I'm thinking another Anaheim vs New Jersey Stanley cup. Jean-Sebastien Giguere vs Martin Brodeur II. The series will go to 6 games with Jersey on top, and Patrick Elias or Brian Gionta as MVP.

Broduer is on his way to another 40+ win season and this devils team is the best I have seen as far as chemistry, and over all game play since they beat Anaheim last time.

First off, are you from Minnesota? If not then I you must be joking. Good young team yes, but not going to get through that conference. San Jose, Anaheim and Detroit. Not to mention the goaltending and steady play of the Canucks. All these teams have better chances of winning Lord Stanley's prize.

The teams with the best goalies. Detroit or New Jersey.

Calgary Flames - Kipper, Iggy, Huselius, Tanguay, Langkow and now Conroy is back. They got the band back together and I need a good Red Mile party!

nashville predators, they have the most balance attack look at the first 3 lines. 2 good goaltenders and 4 real good defensemen. they are primed for a long run i would say the ducks will be there in the conference finals with them
