Cardio and workouts are only half the battle. You've got to cut out simple sugars and switch to whole grains or sugar free items (sugar free oatmeal is a good one). These supply you with steady release of energy and are more filling. You need to multiply your body weight by 15. This gives you the amount of calories needed to maintain your weight. If you subtract 500 from that, that is the amount of calories needed to lose 1 pound a week. Start off with fast pace walking on a treadmill or elliptical, about 4 m.p.h. Do that cardio for at least 30 mins, 3 times a week. Work your way up. For a true die-hard cardio workout, do H.I.I.T. (high intensity interval training). Basically it means walk for a minute or minute and a half and then do a full out sprint for about 30 seconds, after that 30 seconds, do a jog for about a minute, followed by another 30 seconds of sprint. Keep alternating between 1 minutes jogs and 30 second sprints for about 15 minutes. The cardio removes the fat from the abdomen. Hanging leg raises works your lower abs, regular crunches work upper abs. Side crunches work obliques. But why post this in music?
