I have been living in my own place for about 2 years, and I have only one tv which is in the bedroom. Right now my boyfriend (who I don't live with) and I have been spending less time together because I feel so crowded because all we seem to do is lay around in the bedroom and watch tv. It's so crowded in my room so we have been arguing a lot.
At the same time, I have a lot of bills to pay. Do I take the extra money coming in and buy another TV or take all of it and pay bills? I think the extra TV might help the relationship, but I also have bills up the wazoo...What is your opinion?
FYI, the extra money is about $3500.

why don't you just put it towards you debt. If your relationship can't handle all the "together" time it might not be the best relationship for you to be in.

A television is not a necessity but a luxury. Your bills are a necessity. Pay your bills off with the bonus. If you have money left over and you still want to buy a television then make that decision then.

Find some other activity to do with your boyfriend besides watching TV in the bedroom. This will solve the TV issue.

Definitely pay the bills. You will resent him and the TV later if you don't. The stress will get to you. Buy the new TV from you tax return. If the TV is the most important thing to him you can do better, take care of you first and you will be much happier.Take care.

Buy a cheaper tv and pay bills with the rest.

Why don't you do your taxes first and figure out where that puts you financially. Will you be getting money back or paying? How about putting tv in another room.
