Use febreeze and spray on the hat, if the hat give smell, and if it had some dirty spot you can use those bleach pen to remove it, that way you don't have to remove all the sticker and throw the hat into the washer, and it might ruin the hat.

What type hat? Some you can spot treat with a mild soap, water and then immediately blot dry, finish with a hair dryer. I've dunked and scrubbed my husband's summer "straw" hat without any damage, but you have to watch the head band.

you didn't say what kind of hat. If it is a baseball kind, there is a plastic rack that you can lock it into, and then throw the rack into the washing machine. It works real good, and keeps the hats shape.

There is a hat frame that you buy so the hat doesnt lose its shape when washed.

Oxy Clean right on the spot. It's gritty. Let it do the work without to much rubbing.

If you are talking about a baseball cap, you just throw it in your washing machine. They make protective cases so that it won't ruin your cap. See below.

Hand wash it with soap and you could dab on bleach with a q-tip then rinse and hang dry.
