All you’re doing is regurgitating the same old equation. School, plus degree, equals good job. Good job equals good money, equals security. Security plus women, equals marriage equals children. All of which is greater than or equal to happiness. I’m sorry to say but the math is bunk. I won’t even go into the inflationary value of a college degree or the rising divorce rate.

I do not have my high school diploma and neither does my husband...we have always had jobs and got by...now we both own our own businesses(early thirties) and we are making just as much, if not more than alot of our friends who have degrees and supposedly "professional" jobs, not that it matters, but people are always surprised to hear we are dropouts! We have also decided not to have kids, cause it seems like our friends who have kids are so tired and tied down...we take a nice trip out of the country every year and our house is tidy and our doggies cuddle us to sleep at night. We are happy and have fulfillment in our lives without following the "rules" that everyone seems to, and I gotta tell you I sleep great at night!

Everyone has their own opinion of happiness, right/wrong, good/bad. So it's completely ludicrous to say all those things equal happiness. I've met homeless people that have told me they've never been happier. Some might call them delusional but when it all boils down to it, I think life is a series of distractions and activities meant to make us believe "time" is passing quicker. Which in turn makes our human nature kick in and want to do more things (especially anything that seems to keep your mind happy/occupied). Just as I am passing time by typing all this crap. *DING* times up...see my brain's happy. Gee...and I'm not even married with a good job and children. :-)

Honestly i think that it's not misleading at all, of course when you first meet a guy a woman likes to make herself look her best, but obviously a man cannot expect for that woman to look her best all the time, there are times when a woman may just feel to dress down, i d k about you but for me, i hate dressing up all the time, of course there's a time and place for everything, but for me i won't look my best every single time, i do however look good everyday, but some days i look my best which requires more time being spent on the key areas to achieve that. But i really do not think that's it's misleading at all, if a girl decides to dress casual, or down after into the relationship, and if there's a man out there that expects his woman to dress up for him every single day, then he is the most shallowist person i could think of, and he'll be greatly disappointed in that woman, b/c i could guarantee you that at some point in that relationship she will dress down. And i think that a woman should not just let herself go to the dogs by not dressing all the time, but she is required to have "OFF DAYS" whereby she is allowed to dress down when she wants to .Then again that's just my opinion on the matter!

I don't know about the rest of the world, but I do what makes me happy. I went to school, and got a degree because I wasn't happy flipping burgers at McDonalds. I got a degree in something that I enjoy, not because it pays well (it doesn't). Now I'm looking at going back to school again, not because I want a better job, but because I want to learn more about my chosen subject. I'm getting married in a couple of years, but we have decided on no children, because they don't make us happy. I believe that people should not do things just because they are expected to, but because they want to. If it makes you happy to flip burgers, then flip away! If it makes you happy to become president of your company, then go right ahead. Life is too short to be concerned about what society expects you to do.

disagree.
degree equals opportunity, opportunity equals chance for advancement, equals more money.
money equals security if you are responsible with it.
security, marriage, children equal happiness if you chose both luckily and responsibly.
the math isn't bunk, you've just introduced too many variables for a simple equation.
if you figure it out let me know.
