And where do I find out more info about them? My 12-volume Complete Works of George Eliot was published by them, maybe circa 1900, but I can't find any info about them on the internet.

There isn't much about them around.
They were based in New York but I suspect they were not in business very long. Looking through www.abe.com's database, there were only 53 items showing them as publisher: of those definitely dated, all the dates were 1899-1903. The Library of Congress has only 1 set catalogued for them as publisher and the New York Public Library has only 2.
Obviously there may be more on all of these sites incompletely catalogued but it seems to suggest there was never a great deal of it to start with.
