You should probably try to eat more, unless you want an underweight baby..

Just make sure you're not being too concerned right now with your weight and how slim or fat you are-- your most important job right now is to grow a healthy baby. If 6 small meals a day works for you, that's okay. It's actually a good idea to keep your energy up all day and eating several smaller meals rather than 3 large ones will help you be more comfortable in the latter part of pregnancy when your belly is larger. Just don't let yourself go hungry because you're concerned about getting fat. If you feel hungry, you need to eat-- for your sake and for your baby's. You may find that you need an extra snack, or you may even find you wake up hungry in the night. (The only time in my life that I ever woke up starving in the middle of the night was when I was pregnant!) Listen to your body, it will tell you what your baby needs.

How far along are you.. three weeks? three months...?

Here's what i suggest. The six small meals a day are super. If you feel hungry eat something. If you don't feel hungry don't eat. Your body will tell you what you need. But feeling tired constantly and feeling shakey are bad. This could indicate that your baby needs a little more nourishment and is using YOUR nutrition. Take prenatal vitamins, they can be found in the vitamin isle thes days if not ask your doctor. That should cover the vitamin and mineral needs of your baby and leave you with enough to stay healthy. If you child takes too much from you, your hair nails and skin will suffer. If you feel you need to take this concern to your doctor. if the Co-Pay of money for the visit is an issure, just call them and ask over the phone. You will need accurate weight before pregnancy and now and and all your ailments now. like tiredness, nausea, loss of appetite, a weakness in your muscles...

Wish you well.

Light or Thin does not automatically equal "good shape".

You're pregnant ...eat right and put your "body image issues" on the back burner for now.

Your baby is more important than your pants size right now...

Just by being stupid and trying to diet and wearing tight clothes you can jeopordize your baby's health.

Focus on health and nutrition right now...not on how you think you need to look.

Did you know that you will gain at least 4 pounds of just blood??
You'll gain at least 2 pounds of just amniotic fluid??

If you don't eat enough, you won't have enough energy or nutrients you need to support the growth of a baby.

You sound young...how old are you?

Do your baby a favor and go out and by "What to Expect When You're Expecting" ...it is the instruction manual to being pregnant...it will tell you how much weight you can expect to gain and why you are gaining it...what to eat and why you're feeling the way you do. It's an excellent book and totally worth the money.

It really depends on how far along you are. I was about 108 before I got pregnant and was 135 when I gave birth. You have to remember that almost ALL of the weight you gain while being pregant is baby weight and fluid. Anyways, at 111 if your still in your first trimester you should be fine. If you have any questions, ask you doctor. Every women is different!

Ask your doctor, not strangers on the Internet who don't know your situation. For instance, you don't mention your height, which is a factor in determining whether you are underweight. You also don't say how far along you are? Most people only gain 3 to 7 pounds durnig the first trimester, and then gain more later in the pregnancy.

At any rate, your doctor should be the best judge of how much you need to gain and whether you are underweight! Talk to your doctor and get good prenatal care. Take your prenatal vitamins, too.

you didn't say how far along you are and if it's other people telling you this or if it's doctors. I'm 5'7'' and 13 wks. doc. told me that as long as you put on 1-2 lbs a month they're happy the futher along you go the more you'll pick up. If you're eating and able to keep it down and you're doing just fine. I weighed 110 before i got pregnant and i'm now at 117. The weight is catching on faster now for me though now that the morning sickness is going away. Also keep in mind the bodies metablism (sp?) everyones is different. GL.

I know I hate having to say this but, everyone is different. Sounds like you gained 6 pounds while being pregnant.. that sounds good! It doesn't really matter how much you weigh starting out. All that matters is that your baby is getting what he/she needs and that the baby is gaining weight. There is this girl at my work that I would deffinatly say is too skinny.. she's 8 months pregnant and looks smaller then people who are only 3 months. She's anorexic and pregnant, and that's not good. Just make sure you feed that baby and it really doesn't matter how much you weigh. Good luck hun. Best Wishes.

First, you're not fat, you're pregnant. Big difference. Second, eat healthy and take your prenatal vitamins, and you'll be fine. This is the only time in your life where is a GOOD thing to gain weight! Follow what your doc says, he or she knows best, and don't listen to strangers that tell you you're too small. I've known several people who gained less than 25 pounds and had totally normal, healthy babies.

Well if you are eating healthy and taking your prenatal pills.. don't worry about what other ppl say unless it is your doctor. If he says you are fine and to continue on then do it. I don't know how tall you are but it sounds like you are fine weight wise. Just wait till your 4-5 month and you will pack on the pounds when your little belly will begin to expand for your baby. Just make sure you continue eating your 6 small meals, take your pills and drink plenty of water.. goodluck

It all depends on how old is your pregnancy as the fetus is growing the more weight you will gain because the baby will be getting bigger so please dont worry about what the folks are saying it takes time you just eat right and take care of your self and as long as you and the unborn is healthy that is all that matters. Good luck to you and your unborn.
