2 political figureheads fought in the First World War, Winston Churchill, who was an Admiral in the Royal Navy, and the (Then) Corporal Adolf Hitler.

Winston Churchill did fight in WW1, after the Gallipolli disaster he resigned from the Admiralty, joined the army and fought on the Western Front in 1916-1917 with the Royal Scots Fusiliers where he rose to the rank of Colonel . He rejoined the Government when he was appointed Minister of Munitions.

If you mean Winson Churchill.No he was first lord of the admiralty which is a political post not a service rank.
