I have tried media player 11. lots of references but no downloads.
I have a media edition pc. my wireless router is a Netgear adsl DG834G. I need guidance in laymans terms please

Media Connect is actually very well hidden on the xbox website, however if you are using Media Player 11, then media connect is built into it. If you need to download MC you can try here /en-GB/pcsetup/alldownloads dot htm as an extension to the xbox dot com site.
If you go into the tools screen on MP 11 though, there should be a sharing option which will show your 360 as trying to connect to it, you should then be able to just right click and allow it access.

Check your firewall settings. If nothing else work go to the forums on http://www.xbox.com/en-US/ and they can help you out. There are plenty of guides and faqs.
