I need a craft that will take about a few hours to complete and will not be a craft that all look the same, but a craft that will turn out unique for each kid, any ideas?

Depending on your resources, tie-dye is a great choice. Each kid's creation will be unique! You can buy a kit at Micheals for about $15 and it will do about 10-15 shirts.
I am an art teacher and it is hands down the favorite of my students.

Let them paint. Go to walmart or a craft store. They have wooden toys that can be painted. Or even ceramic stuff. My grandchildren love these things. Ages range from 4-10. They got them for their birthdays and they are thrilled with them. And trust me when I tell you. No 2 look alike. They can be the same car or animal and no 2 look alike. They will sit more than an hour doing these things. The wooden things are around 88 cents to a dollar depending on where you get them. The ceramic things are 44 cents at walmart. Also there were stained glass things that can be painted. Don't remember the price but it was really reasonable.

When I was a kid my mom bought metal ornaments for christmas that we put beads into & then melted them in the oven. The end product was stain glass window ornaments. Maybe you could look for something like on the net. I still have some of them & after all these years we remember who made what & how much we enjoyed it.

I came up with this idea last winter. Cut three circles out of white paper in decreasing sizes. Have the kids fold them up and cut them up like paper snowflakes. Mount in a snowman shape on a sheet of blue paper, and add eyes, noses, mouths, hats, scarfs, or whatever. I had a first grade class try the project, and each one was unique, and they really liked it. I hope this was what you were looking for!

Go to the craft store and buy some of those treasure chests or jewelry chests. Or even the paper mache boxes with lids. They can paint or decoupage their own. You could run off a map in sepia tones, and decoupage it on the chest.

i would go with salt dough and let them mold gift boxes with lids or sculptures, or even cookie dough cutters, great for the younger ones. This would be at least a 2 day project, first day to mold and bake, second day to paint.

give them some beer cans, scissors, a sharp knife, some glue, a few popcicle sticks, a bag of sparkles, some straws, a few pipe cleaners, and rubber bands. Itll be sweet. Video tape it and put it on you tube also.
