How long do you think this will take you? Seriously? I see at least 5 hours minimum. If you charge $10 that's $50. What is your time worth?

I clean for a living. I charge a flat rate. But I do know how long it would take me to get all that done. The base boards need to be de-cobbed or do you need to wipe them off with a rag. Will she stop there or will she want all the doors and cabinets wiped down. Most people who want the base boards done would like all the doors etc. wiped down. Any way to do only what you have specified I would charge no less than $80.00. That is more than reasonable, she will keep you coming back if you do a good job. No kitchen cleaning, I fined this odd.

I have owned and operated a cleaning business for 19 years.I work alone, and charge about $30.00 per hour.It sounds like alot, but you never give an hourly rate to the customer.Charge by the job.If the house takes you 2 1/2 hours, charge $75.00.That sounds better than $30.00 per hr.First time will take twice as long,so you can charge more for the first time.If not, just charge the $75.00 and the job will get easier as you visit more often.I live in Massachusetts, where folks pay more than in Alabama,or New Hampshire or Maine.Try calling some other cleaners that advertise, and pose as a potential customer to get their rates.Feel free to contact me for some helpful hints.jimjean13@comcast.net

I used to own a house cleaning business I charged by the hour and I charged $2 per hour. over the minimunand I was busy.. I have friends in OH and they charge $12 an hour and are quite busy. Don't do it by the job, it may take you a week to do the play room and bedrooms. Or something else. Like the baseboards, if she wants them done in every room, moving furniture and all that stuff, it will take a while.

To begin with, I think its very odd that they don't want any kitchen work done, primarily because thats where most people would start their list of rooms to be cleaned, but in any event....
I can't offer you any rates but I can make a suggestion to you that I hope will be helpful... When I had to do some cleaning for the people in my neighborhood, I called around to local cleaning companies and I asked how much they would charge for these things to be cleaned, and I then based my rate on what they offered, that way it seemed fair to them and me.... You don't want to overcharge, because she may not want you to do the work then, or to undercharge would not be fair to you.... I also feel that where you live plays a big part in what you can charge too, and also try to base what you charge on the room size and how bad it is in need of cleaning..... I hope I was a help... Good luck to you!
