It kills me when i see someone writing about how all the buffalo sabres fans are bandwagon fans. Who are you to say that we don't even know whats going on in the game? Just because buffalo is passionate about the sabres, doesn't mean we are all idiots who don't even know what an offside is. They are doing great, and we love to watch them. AH it just kills me when someone assumes that we are ALL bandwagon fans.

It's so good to know that other people, even Leafs fans agree with me :]

And its rational that when a team is doing bad, the attendance will go down, and when they are doing good, well obviously more people will want to watch them. It makes sense to me.

by ever living in or near the city of buffalo you will never be a band wagon fan. Sabres have always been a good team minus the period when the team was up for sale. if you live in buffalo your a sabres fan thats how it works

There are a lot of bandwagon fans and "puck bunnies" that just think the Sabres are cool because they're winning, but as someone who has been watching the Sabres for most of my life and understands the game, I still don't mind it. More money coming in means that the team can afford to pay their best players to stay put, acquire new talent, and maintain a cleaner and more comfortable space for players and fans in the arena. It keeps ticket prices down because profits can't help but be made when every game is a sellout. The biggest reason I don't mind the bandwagon fans and puck bunnies is because they have children who will likely become lifetime fans and possibly even the next great players of the game. Western New Yorkers have always been very attached to our sports teams through thick and thin, and if a few more of us feel like driving through the Buffalo weather to get to games when there's a likely chance our team will win, then what's so wrong with that?

Just ignore these idiots. They are probably just jealous because your team is doing so well this season, and had a great run in the playoffs. I'm not sure where they get that from anyway. You guys have had a team for a long time. Maybe there hasn't always been huge attendance figures, but there is nothing wrong with people not going to the games if the team isn't doing all it can to improve.

Take my home team for instance, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Now here's a team that doesn't deserve the fan support they receive. It make me sick to have a team like the Leafs with such a storied history to never be a contender decade after decade. But these sucker fans keep dishing out the money. What a bunch of losers these people are. They say there is a sucker born every minute, just ask Leaf fans they should know. Good luck to the Buffalo Sabres, a good team and a better city than Toronto.

1) The Wings do have bandwagon fans. EVERY team has bandwagon fans. 2) The Sabres only ever had trouble filling their arena because they are from a small city. 3) How many diehard fans get on the edge of their seat during game 78 of a season where their team is in 12th place? Yeah i thought so. 4) The media pays more attention to a winning team. Home town media, national media, American media, Canadian media, red media, green media. They always pay attention to the top teams, because they will be vying for the top spot. And some people will get caught up in the hype. 5) The Sabres have been the most exciting team in the NHL this year. Esy to get caught up in the hype. Same reason why American Idol is so popular. 6) No seriously, what is so bad about being a bandwagon fan? People seem to miss the fact that not everyone lives and dies with a professional sports team. 7) The Sabres have bandwagon fans. Show me a team that doesn't have bandwagon fans and I'll show you a team that gets ridiculed because "they can't even sell out their playoff games!" And they probably have bandwagon fans, too.

Obviously you don't know the meaning of a "bandwagon fan". A bandwagon fan is not a fan that doesn't know anything about hockey. It's a fan that doesn't support a team when they are losing, but does when they are winning.

How was Buffalo's attendance in the first half of last season when they were pretty much under .500? Not good at all.

Before you Buffalo fans jump down my neck, open your eyes to the reality. The Sabres were not being supported when they were losing. All of a sudden last season, they turned their game around and became one of the hottest teams in the NHL. That is when tickets to Sabres games were hard to come by. Before that you could walk up 1hr before game time and get a good seat ... and several of those fans were travelling from Hamilton and Toronto, ON.

That's why people say Sabres fans are bandwagon jumpers.

Obviously not all Sabres fans are, but a good chunk of them have already proven it.

Alot of people are hating buffalo fans because were doing great and their team is not at the top. So buffalo had a great start and are now in a slump but if you look at all the sports stations and analyses even they are saying thay are a good team and alot of them are not even "bandwagoners" I say if your from the buffalo area and family is from there too most likely your going to be a buffalo fan football or hockey buffalo fans are diehard fans and it doesnt matter if their losing or winning they always support their team. Through thick and thin if you want to see how to support something just look at their fans!

I <3 Danny Briere and the Sabres!!!
Lets go buffalo!!! Briere is Briereilicious

Personally I'm a Redwings fan since I was like 5. But Buffalo is tied for my 2nd with Blackhawks, since I live outside of Chicago. I like the Sabres simply because of Drury and liked Briere after watching him last season. I've been a loyal Buffalo fan since 3 years, but I still like the Red Wings a little better. It's not the same without Steve Yzerman, though. At first I liked Chris Drury and cheered for the Sabres because I want him to do well. Call that what you want, but even if he retires, gets traded, or dies which is unlikely, I'm stickin with Buffaalo because I've grown to like them. GO BUFFALO! and ur rite too many people do hate the Sabres but when people jump off their bandwagon and get on the Sabres they grow to hate the Sabres.

It's not the true Sabres fans that are hated, it's the frontrunner Sabres Fans. I can't stand anyone who moves to a team because they are winning. When I see someone wearing Sabres stuff, I ask them when was the last time they played for the Stanley Cup, if they get it right, theyre a fan, if they don't know, theyre a frontrunner who decided to like the team because they are good. I'm a Rangers fan, I have to deal with Devils fans, most of who were Rangers fans at one point. But the Devils start winning the Cup, they're Devils fans, then the Rnagers had a good year, they're Rangers "fans" again, then the Rangers get swept, they're Devils fans again.

You're right not all fans are bandwagon jumpers, but a lot are and they are the ones that did it too you. It was Sabers fans that came out of the gate predicting a cup win after 10 wins (3 of which were in the SO so it's arguable if they should count in the record books), you didn't think you'd get slaughtered for that?

Sabers fans did it to themselves and unless their team produces a Stanley cup they are going to get heckled to the end!

Did you hear Ducks fans spouting off as much as the Sabre's fans at the beginning of the year? They had a good start to the season too!

Because the city is full of bandwagoners. I'm a Sabres fan and I agree. I grew up in the Rochester area, but the military moved me to Va Beach. I ordered the NHL Center Ice package the last few years (except the lockout year) so I could see every game. Thats a true fan. And all those lame *** nerds that stuffed the internet ballot boxes for the all-star game, aren't helpen that city from critisism very much. Now I am a huge Sabers fan, but Ryan Miller and Brian Campbell, not All-Stars folks, sorry, somebody has to say it.
