A good free one is AVG Anti- Virus. You could also check ratings from websites such as consumer reports and PC world.

Cyber defender is the best free one but if you're willing to pay bye Sophos anti-virus. There both easy to use and they both are quick when they scan. If you had any brains you would not get AVG trust me. If anything Cyber defender is the best.

Norton - but apparently, it only gives you anti-virus and firewall. I keep on getting a message on my computer which says i have no protection against malware, spyware, adware, worms, Trojans, etc and I keep shopping around for some free stuff that will stop all these things from ******* up my computer.

Avast: www.avast.com
AntiVir: www.freeav.com

are 2 really good ones and they're free. The ones that you have to pay for in the shops are absolute rubbish, they're huge and slow down the system to a snail's pace.

Everyone will have their own personal preference and
opinion as to what is 'best'.

The suggestion below is given, because the software is
efficient, and relatively unobtrusive, i.e. it doesn't
take over the whole system and cause issues as most
of the 'big gun' virus checkers tend to do nowadays.
