Amendment XXV (the Twenty-fifth Amendment) of the United States Constitution clarifies an ambiguous provision of the Constitution regarding succession to the Presidency, and establishes procedures both for filling a vacancy in the office of the Vice President as well as responding to Presidential disabilities.

None. There is nothing in the Constitution or the amendments that addresses political parties. Political parties are voluntary associations of people in order to advance candidates that support a shared political philosophy.

Wasn't this added to give a leeway for other amendments like the USA Patriot Improvement and reauthorization Act.

so first we know when a president is not fit to be acting comander in chief. then we have a set procedure to swear in the VP.

could you imagine the chaos if we didn't have this system lined-out? what would we do if we had a sick president?
