OK I have an Astra 1.6 which if I am not mistaken is a very similar if not the same engine (depending on engine size) It had an intermittent fault then one day just wouldn't start, took it to local garage and they fitted a crank case sensor as it is a common fault on Vauxhalls. Still nothing. Finally towed it to local Vauxhall dealer. They had it for a day and a half and they finally diagnosed a fuel pump relay. Situated under the bonnet with the rest of the relays on the Astra under the windscreen at the right. £14 to replace that and in total paid £200 in garage bills. Give it a try it might be worth the £14 rather than getting a garage to look at it

Any luck getting it started ?

open oil cap look in you`ll see the cams - ask someone to turn engine over - the cams should move if not the timing belt is broken - big money - if yes then take off the plastic cover on the right at the back you`ll see a pipe with a large shiny connector - a 17 or 19mm spanner will open this - get the engine turned over and stand back - if petrol comes out - OK put it back on - if not fuse or pump - if orange light on dash is flashing immobiliser problem. try spare key. if no joy bring to dealer
if still no start - remove the coil pack - long black thing under plastic cover - leave plugged in and fit 1 spark plug to end of lead - make sure the the plug is on or near metal rocker cover of engine and turn over - check for spark - if no spark then maybe coil pack or crank sensor - if spark change plugs

Your motor vehicle has hydraulic lifters, that is in all risk them damn. often on intense mileage engines nevertheless using completely synthetic oil (or if somebody has crowned up with the spectacular grade of oil, however the incorrect form). Do an entire oil substitute and use mineral oil (10w-40 or regardless of is interior the training manual). What mileage has it finished? and what 300 and sixty 5 days is it? it would desire to be something somewhat imprecise.
