I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago.......He told me that he was going to press on my stomach......I was closing my eyes........and I felt something cold on my stomach.........He placed his stethoscope on my stomach. The farthest he placed it was on the tip of my private......Is that normal? Feel free to share any stories.......

May I suggest to you, that in the future you ask the doctor what is that for, if you have questions. It is your body and you have a right to know what is being done to you. Sometimes we misinterpret what the doctor is doing and it leaves us with questions about the integrity of the doctor. Be assertive and ask questions.

I could be wrong...but a stethoscope is used for more than just listening to your heart. The doctor could be listening to your bowel sounds. That could be why he was all the way down by your pubic bone (if that is where he was). I can tell you as a nurse sometimes it is hard to hear bowel sounds in some areas so you have to move around and press a little harder on some people. Again I could be wrong but that...is what I am thinking. If you feel like you need to talk you should talk to your mother or even the doctor.

I have a female doctor and she has pressed my stomach in the same area.. but not with a stethoscope.. I don't know what that's all about?

Same here i thought he was like a pervert.... i wil tell you my story. My mom was waiting out side. and he said for me to unzip my pants. he put his stethoscope on my tummy and moved it up and down [near my private] then he started pressing my tomy next thing i knwo he was at the tip of my Va JJ

Not normal in any of my experiences.
The stethoscope has only been used on me for its intended purpose.... listening to my heart.
Talk to you mother, I don't think that is right.

Do you mean, like all the way down there? It's normal for him to go to the lowest part of your abdomen, but no lower than that. If he was like on your pubic bone or in your pubic area, then I would steer clear of him from now on.

When I had a physical, I had my stomach pressed on but never had happen what you did.

Depends what you were going in for. If you were getting a full physical you pretty much get touched all over.

If you mean the bottom of your abdomen, just above your mons veneris, there's no problem. He was simply examing your abdomen.
