atomic number for oxygen should be 8 if i remember it correctly, so since # of electrons is equivalent to the atomic #, then there should be 8 electrons, but I'm not really sure, i could be way off for all I know, depends on other people's answer =D

It has the same number of protons as electrons which is the same number as the atomic number. So it has 8! :)
