i got my bellybutton pierced on saturday and i haven't had any problems with it so far. no scabbing, no puss or anything. i was told to clean the piercing with antibacterial soap and water and also salt water. i have only cleaned it with saltwater once, because i am afraid that may dry out the piercing if i clean it that way too often. i usually clean it about 3 times a day with the soap and water. my question is.. what are some good suggestions on how to clean a navel piercing properly. i am not sure if what i am doing is okay so i would like to know what some other people say to do. i just really want to make sure i am cleaning it well, because i do not want to get an infection. i hardly have any pain with it at all and most of the time i don't even know it is there.
any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

HEY whatever you do DON'T put alcohol or peroxide on it. IT WILL GET INFECTED. Because it dries it out. AND NO ALOE VERA GEL. All you need is dial antibacterial hand soap in the pump. DON'T USE THE BAR SOAP. May cause bacteria to build up. It's easier to use the pump because you just squeeze some in your hand and rub it on. Then rinse it. The warm salt water works best if it is SEA SALT not iodine salt. The Sea Salt just takes away pain and inflammation but it should not be mistaken as a cleanser because it doesnt clean the piercing just keeps it from hurting because there will be times that it will get sore. Also don't touch unless your hands are clean. Just use some antibacterial hand soap just like you use to clean the piercing. It takes a while to heal. Anywhere from six months to a year. So just keep cleaning it and putting salt on it to shorten the healing time.

when i got my belly button peirced, the only time it got clean was when i was in the shower (once a day) and i sprayed it with salt water spray everyday. the saltwater thing only lasted about a week or two then i just forgot about it. mine never got infected or had any problems. dont worry so much about it.

just dont irritate it and after a week u should clean it because sometimes it causes infections if u clean it to much so clean it every week and it will be iight so just dont try to clean it un till a week and dont put soap or salt in it thats very dangerous!! cuz that some times causes purple skin and it can also mess up your bellybutton.so u betta dont do dat

it sounds like your cleaning it perfectly, but make sure you always do it 3 times a day and yeah dont dry it out too much.

Most piercing, just alcohol it once a day, then put aloe vera gel on to sooth it.
wash it with hot and then cold water , then aloe vera
