Yes, I have read the Harry Potter books before the films aswell as the Da Vinci Code. I always think the books are better than the film because they miss good things out of the book which would have made the movie so much better. Probably they couldnt be bothered with wasting extra money on computer graphics.

Yes. I'll try not to do that again. I love to watch movies and I love to read books and I've found that if you read the book first, it will ruin the movie. The only exception I found was "The Lord of the Rings." Phenomenal books and movies. Stephen Kings are the worst. I love his books, but they don't adapt well to screen. I read Dreamcatcher and about a month later it came out in the theater. My sister-in-law took me to see it and I hated it. They left so much out, that I kept wondering if the movie was even making sense to the other people.

Edit: But it's not as bad if there's a few years between the reading and the watching. I read the Chronicles of Narnia about 15 years ago and I didn't really remember what the books were about by the time the movie came out.

Absolutely! Most of the time I've already read the book when the movie comes out and if I haven't then I read the book before I go see the movie. I like seeing the different ways that the movie portrays the book. I'm particularly interested in the Bridge the Terabithia movie because the book is actually pretty sad but the movie looks adventurous and exciting!

Yes, and the only time I thought the film was as good as the book was when I watched "To Kill a Mockingbird."

Yeah. The book is usually better than the movie. There are a few exceptions though. I know one or two movies that are way better than the books.
