In marketing your short term goals should be things that can successfully be done in a 2-6 month time frame. Such as: Company X will improve their 1st quarter advertising campaign by means of adding new advertising mediums, such as radio, television, and print ads.
Long term goals are things that can be completed in a 1 year or so, things that take time to complete, such as: Company X will have a stronger brand image by 2008. This will be completed by implementing a stronger advertising structure, word of mouth advertising, and print media.
