Looking for name of a prison movie from 1980's where guy dresses like a woman to escape. Not Hoffman movie.?

I've been looking for this movie for years. I think it was a made for tv movie with a non-a-list actor who gets caught smuggling drugs at the airport by the police. He is taken into a room and shocked with a stun gun then is taken to a mexican jail where is is beaten on a daily basis by the guards. One day after his girlfriend/wife smuggles in a wig, a dress and some makeup he escapes by blending in with a crowd of visiting women. Please help??? Ring any bells???

In "Escape from Alcatraz" (1979), they are never captured, and no bodies have been found so that authorities can claim they were killed during the escape. Clint Eastwood stars as Frank Morris. I'm not sure how many actually broke out and got away. I'll have to check on that. Well, that's not it either because Wikipedia says that there were three escapees. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~... There's an older film, "The Defiant Ones" (1958), in which two criminals (played by Sidney Poitier and Tony Curtis) escape but are handcuffed together, something the guards thought would be funny since the white man is an outspoken racist. They eventually become sort-of friends. Hmmm... I don't think they escape, so this probably isn't it. This story was filmed again in 1986 with Robert Urich and Carl Weathers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~... Your description does sound like a lot of films. Maybe one of our guesses is the one you're looking for.

Sorry - I don't know this one. Try imdb.com - it's the best! A good drag movie from the '80s is Nuns on the Run with Eric Idle from Monty Python and Robbie Coltrane, better know as Hagrad from the Harry Potter films (and also in the recent James Bond films).
