GROSS

You really should have a tampon on if you have your period (no matter how light).

I swam for 4 years thru 32 periods and noone taught me about tampons. I did not wear a pad, gross, I know, however my flow stopped when I swam even in meets and I had heavy flow normally. Not a good thing to do nor was it smart but I had no clue what a tampon was. Now that I know what a tampon is an how to use it, I wish I had known then, I would have worn one. If you have never used one ask someone you trust to help you or call your Gynecologist . DONT BE EMBARRASSED! My younger sister asked me if I wore tampons and I said, no, she told me "I know I can here you walk!!", she was 15 and I was 22!! She told me how to use them. What ever you do, DON'T wear a pad in the water! That would be a horrible embarrassment for you and very uncomfortable, think of a baby diaper in water, yeah. Good luck!

It's not going to be too bad, but it's still better to wear a tampon just in case- it's not exactly sanitary either. Before you go swimming, use tampons a few times so you get used to it and know how to put it in so it's comfortable, so you can relax when you're in the pool.

No, I've done that many time and I'm was just fine. But make sure that when you get done swimming that you go and freshen up. know what I mean, so that way you won't have an embarrassing spot.

If you're on a light day, I think you'll be OK.

It's not like your period is one continuous flow or anything. Bring one just in case, and have fun!!
