I am thinking of writing a fictional book where a person is looking for this artifact but i need to know one that isn't found already so people will be interested in reading it.

I've thought of Excalibur to write my book for but i want to make it a key. What should it be a key to? I was thinking the object would be in Avalon.

Well, the traditional treasure associated with Arthur and Avalon is the holy grail, which was supposedly brought to England by Joseph of Arimathea. Many knights in Arthurian legend supposedly went to look for it, but no one ever found it.

Do I get a percentage of the royalties for doing your research?

Really, you need to look at what you are doing as an author. If you really want to write a book, go write it. If you can't come up with something real, make it up for crying out loud.

What you need are some workshops on writing fiction. Look to the local University for some author workshops.

And stop asking folks who really haven't got a clue to do your research for you. After all, that's why you get paid a royalty. And besides, ya never know when someone is going to come out of the wood work and say, hey, that was my idea and you stole it from me; I want money.

Start out by getting smart. Do your own research.

here is the best one. Let us say they look for atlantis, where the perfect race lives. They find it, and there they have all those artifacts. The important things that hold the truth of our existance. Maybe someone can stumble into it, and there is a big war raging over the covenant and its ten commandments... you know what, I WILL WRITE IT INSTEAD!
