It currently has Win 98SE and was going to put Win 2000 and up the ram to the max, which I think it can hold 512 meg.

Its in great shape and just curious if I did those upgrades to it, would that increse its value a lot of not that much.

Suggestions.

Probably wouldn't raise the value much, if at all. 512mb of ram is pretty much the minimum one would want to run XP with. Judging from the OS it has on it, Win98SE, I'm gonna take a guess that it only has a Pentium 2, maybe 3 or equivilant, and more than likely not capable of much more than that without changing the mainboard.

If I were you, I would probably just hang onto it, and used it just for word processing, story writing etc...

I have a Compaq M300 Armada Pentium 3 with 256MB Memory and had Win98 OS. I upgraded it to Win 2K and downloaded all the drivers needed. Bottom line is that is start-up so SLOW and the performance is quite below satisfactory. Keep it in Win 98 if possible or buy a new one. Good Luck!

undecided approximately this version yet somewhat some the older compaq laptops used a undeniable partition on the hard disk drive for this. If that have been given bumped off you may no longer replace any BIOS settings. you may in spite of the incontrovertible fact that nonetheless get carry of the softpaqs to reinstall it.
