"I mean, you've got the first sort of mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a story-book, man"

Would the media be ripping him a new one or saying he was just misunderstood?

The media has made sure every knows Joe screwed up again, it really doesn't matter since he will never get the nod from the dems anyway, he's ALWAYS had a problem with his mouth and always will, besides it is way too early to be looking at who the real contenders might be

articchick says "Look at how Boxer talked to Condi" So what? What did she say that wasn't true and that Rice herself admitted is true, she doesn't have kids, her choice but it still mattered to the heart of the inquiry which is it's very easy to make bad choices when the outcome has negligable effect on you

My only complaint is I would love to be able to joke about what he said in public, it is really funny, but what would happen if I said that? That should be the test. What would happen if you or I were to say that in public?

But any way you parse it, it is very insulting. There have been several blacks who ran for President, most were members of Congress, that is definitely "mainstream" and whatever you think of Jesse, he isn't Rap Brown, he too is mainstream. So Biden must have meant that Obama was he first "clean" (whatever that means) African-American to run for President

There a was a time I might have voted Republican. I'm very disapointed at what's happened to the party lately. Especially under Bush. When they're not pandering to the Religious Right, they're druming up parinoia about unlikely scenerios of terrorism, against the corner McDonalds - or some other hysterical thing.

The truth is, they're just deflecting attention from all the payola they're getting by making it easy for American companies to move abroad, along with our jobs and our lively-hood.

He is having a new one ripped, including from members of his own party. This is just another false statement made in the hopes of making republicans look like the good guys, and they are not.

Look at how Boxer talked to Condi - switch parties for both women, and the howls of outrage would *still* be going on.

Hypocrisy, thy name is liberal...
