Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Avoid sweets and refined sugars. Cranberry juice cocktail is often full of added sugars.
Garlic is an excellent all around remedy to apply locally (use a string) and has no bad side effects other than maybe odor.
Pay lots of attention to hygiene - and your partner should too. Insist on hand washing at least before you go to bed.
Clean, dry, loose fitting clothes. Cotton underwear and pants.

Eat yougurt and drink cranberry juice and lots of water. Keep the area clean. After showering, dry the area completely. Wear loose clothing and cotton underwear. If possible, (I know this is not possible in many households, especially if there's kids or nosy siblings!) lie naked for about a half hour each day to air out the body.
Avoid sex. The infection can be agitated and transmitted to your partner.
Good luck!
