Simplify... 2(t + 4) + 3(t - 4)

First: eliminate parenthesis -- distribute the outer terms with terms in parenthesis...

2(t) + 2(4) + 3(t) - 3(4)

Sec: combine the terms...

2t + 8 + 3t - 12

Third: combine "like" terms...

2t + 3t + 8 - 12

= 5t - 4
