Hey try DEB or maybe JC Penny's. I actually got mine from Ross but you really have to look in there.

Well.... there aren't many places that sell $50 prom dresses. Go to Deb stores because they sometimes have really nice dresses for about $30. Also, check out the sales and clearance section at JCPenney and Filene's (or is that Macy's now?).

Or just have her borrow a friend's dress! That always works.

Check out people who sell thems on ebay or similar sites (some even give items away). Word of mouth -- if you know a girl who went to prom last year (we never wear our prom dresses again).

sometimes you can go to places like salvation army or goodwill and get dresses that have been only worn once for under $20.
i bought a very nice, brand new, worn once prom dress for $15. brand spankin new. silk and lace, and no frays or naps. no stains, nothing.

MACY'S! Me and my mom went when money was very tight and we found a VERY beautiful dress that said it was 40 dollars and when we went to the cash register to buy it, it was only 15 dollars! It was such a blessing.

What I do is got to goodwill stores by the best dress and then modify it so it will look new. ex: making it shorter or strapless.
