im interested... what kind of beats and rythems do they make you play usually? i just want to be prepared :)

well it depends on the teacher....
when I tried out, I had to repeat what the teacher did, so say he would play a certain rhythm and then I would play that same rhythm. We also had a test on Bells/xylophone where we had to play certain notes (we might have had to read music, not sure on that, don't remember that far back, you MUST be able to read music)
If you don't practice, and you don't have raw talent then you will fall behind, happened to me!! I ended up dropping in 7th grade (started in 5th) (in the words of a band teacher, practice makes permanent not perfect!)

i just remember repeating what the teacher did. hopefully u can read music. band class is so that you can learn isnt it? so you shouldnt be able to do everything.
its really simple. you will probably make it. i wouldnt get to stressted about it.
