It depends on what you want to use it for. If you plan on using your laptop for entertainment, ie: pictures, videos, music, etc, then a Mac is the way to go. It is a good college computer, as it can also be used for basic word processing and other such programs. I would suggest downloading Microsoft Word onto it. Macs also tend to have better troubleshooting help and they look prettier!
If it is purely for business, then a PC is probably what you want. They tend to be much more professional.

You should buy a laptop with Windows Vista as your operating system. Windows Vista just came out and is the best operating system out there right now. If you get a laptop with Mac than it will cost a lot and it isn't worth it. If you are wanting to get a nice laptop and putt some money into it than you should go with Windows Vista as your operating system.
I hope this solves your question

I've used both Windows and Mac OS for over 20 years now and I would go with a Mac. They are way more stable then PC's, despite what others say mine never crashes (NEVER)
And all their programs are integrated to use with one another. In 2 clicks I can e-mail any picture I have in iPhoto. Same with iTunes.
Yes, Macs cost more but it's worth it for lack of headaches, viruses, spyware. My current iBook is 4 1/2 years old, never a single problem, not one virus, no adware, no spyware. And the last upgrade to OS X Tiger took all of 40 minutes and was easy as 1-2-3.
Then they say there is no software for Macs. Bull! There are well over 2,000 titles available.
Plus with the new Macs you can run Windows Vista, you can't run Mac OSX from a PC.

My question to you is, "Have you used an Apple Laptop with Tiger OS?" If you are familiar with Windows OS the Apple OS is very different and would need adjusting. Even with the installation of Microsoft OS in the Apple Laptop, the unit does not have a right-click button. That's confusing for me. But if that's OK with you go ahead. Try them both first and whichever suites you fine is the best for you. They are both very good and highly reliable. I don't want to say anything bad about Apple because I get flak from Apple Militant Users. Good luck!

My suggestion would be windows, because in my expierence, it runs faster and has better set-ups than Mac. I have also heard Mac crashes a LOT. I also believe Mac costs more.

Windows can do anything mac can, but not the other way around, also, the macs are more expensive. My brother has one and I loath it. I cant stand it.
