this is formula that tell u slope and intercept
y = mx + b
where m = slope
b = y intercept
so your equation y = 4 - 10x
let's rearrange it so it looks like y = mx + b
y = -10x + 4
now we by just looking at it we know
m = -10
b = 4
so the slope is -10/1 or down ten and one unit right
then y intercept is 4

you can switch the 4-10x around so it becomes y= -10x+4, and if you look at the formula y=ax^2+bx+c, since c is the lone term which is also the intercept, the intercept for y= -10x+4 is 4, and the slope of the graph goes down 10 and right 1, if you use a graphic calculator and plug the equation in, you would see it
in y=ax^2+bx+c
c= y intercept
b= slope of the graph
a= if the graph has a maximum or a minimum, but can also mean where the graph descends and ascends ex. when its x^3, which you will look further into when you take precalculus

The number that goes right in front of the x is always the slope and the other number is always the y-intercept.
