Tomorrow, Floridas 8th graders have to take this test called the Florida Writes. We are required to write an essay given a prompt- either expository or persuasive.
Does anyone possibly know the type of topics they will give us to write about?
Also, does anyone know of good websites that give tips on persuasive and expository writing.
Any advice would help!

Well is impossible to know what the prompt is going to be (just like the FCAT) but try to think of what your teachers have being telling you, like any topics they may have given to you to practice.
Just don't worry, try to have good points and opinions, make 5 paragraphs and everything will be alright...
I didn't know the test is tomorrow, that sucks, we're gonna have block schedule buuu....
I'm glad I'm in 7th...

nobody really knows what prompts they will give you for the test.not even the teachers have a clue.my advice is to relax and do your best.you only need a 3.5 or higher to pass and im sure youll do fine.just remember everything youve been taught and realize its just one test.it wont determine your whole future.hope you do well.

Try Purdue University's OWL (Online Writing Lab) for tips on all types of writing. That site will give you links to other sites. If none of that works for you, you can write to me. I can teach you (for a fee).
