unfortunately...the zodiac killings you refer to took place in 1968.

Reports of the Goatman began in 1957, with sightings occurring in Upper Marlboro and Forestville, Prince George's County, Maryland[4]. From there, sightings spread to other states; with reports of the Goatman being made as far south as Texas in the 1960s, Washington and California during the 1980s, and as far north as Ontario, Canada, during the 1990s

Alleged sightings now been reported in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington. The largest concentration of these sightings has been around Bowie, Maryland.

I live close to that area in Maryland. Its by the Agriculture & Natural Resources area by the Patuxent research refuge. Some of its the University of Maryland some state and some federal agriculture. The story goes that peolpes that cars broke down on Rt 197 (which runs through the agriculture area and on the edge of the refuge) would be killed/eaten by goatman. Hoof marks would be on the car hood and some people said he caused accidents, running accross the road. The link below is where they say it happends. We use to go down their to scare girls. We never saw the goatman, but it use to really scare people.
