About once a month I lose all my bookmarks in my Mozilla Firefox browser...Why does this keep happening? What can I do to get my bookmarks back?

I usually have about 20 bookmarks so its frustrating to re-bookmark all of them! I checked the website, and most of the stuff there went right over my head. :-P

I'm using version 2.0.0.1. and I'm the only one that uses my computer, so no one's tampering with my once neatly organized bookmarks D:

Yes, Firefox saves them on your computer and they're probably still there!

http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#locate

It's in a file called "bookmarks.htm" - each profile has a different folder. I think each time you uninstall and reinstall Firefox, it just creates a new profile (I know it leaves the profile there)

In the future, after you get the bookmarks back to where you like them, make a backup copy - just export your bookmarks in your documents.
Bookmarks > Organise Bookmarks > File > Export...

I hope this helps,
Amanda

Unless you have a nasty ( or some other person,
maybe unwittingly ) playing with your Firefox settings,
then thi is usally a case of the browser's profiles
getting in a tangle. Depending on which version of
Firefox you are using, this link may help you:

Always worth saving your own backup copy of the
Bookmarks as a web page of links on a regular basis.
Easily imported back in.

you are better off not using firefox for all your bookmarks, as they don't save them in their system. only put the non-important ones there. use yahoo bookmarks as the bookmarks are save in yahoo's servers and you'll never lose them. to get them, you'll have to download the yahoo tool bar..
