I've been wearing them for awhile as part of my style, I have a new job in an office and am trying to decide how much I need to fit in.

Black ribbon chokers aren't goth to begin with. They are very feminine though. As long as they fit into the rest of the outfit you are wearing it should be OK.I would really make sure they fit the outfit and that if you are in a position of power that they don't end up making people think you are to girly to get a job done.

Contrary to what your first answerer said, think about who needs who the most, and then take your cues from there. You can show some "flair", maybe, in your style, but then maybe your boss doesn't like that, so you may have to get more conservative in order to keep your job, or get raises and become friends with others at you place of employment. Make "fitting in" a high priority in your first months at work, and then, if you seem to be getting along with everyone well, and doing your job well, THEN you might "show a little style", but how you fit in is very important to the overall work place scheme, so, make that a high priority on a new job. God Bless you.

Take your cue from what the other women are wearing. Most of the time, office wear is somewhat conservative, but do what you can to make it more "you". You might need to find a new signature look for yourself. Change can be a good thing though. It's boring to look the same for too long.

How much you need to fit in? What kind of office are you working at that you aren't allowed to have some personal style. I had tattoos and a nose piercing working for the courts. I say wear whatever you enjoy and if they have a problem with it they'll letcha know...

Yes, leave them at home. You need to fit in if you are thinking about moving up. Look at it as a uniform then when you get off be free to be yourself!
