or can any 1 give me alink to a website helping step by step? im trying to pull the engine out almost done just need to locate the tranny bults and motor mounts.

I would leave the tranny on the motor.It's not only easier to remove, it will be easier to install later. And as far as needing a web site, you have a classic car there and theres not much to know, just get in there and start.

leave them together but drain the tranny first , the tranny mount is near the end of the tranny and the motor mounts are in the middle of the motor , also pull the rad and the hood , have fun , be safe

bypass away tranny bolted to engine. makes each and every little thing plenty simpler to tug out as an entire unit. motor mounts might desire to be on steer axle, or bypass member. tranny might desire to have a crossmember on the rear of the tranny. in simple terms get rid of the driveshaft and get rid of the bolts from motor mounts and the crossmember from tranny and it would come astounding out as nicely each and all of the electrical powered stuff.

i would leave it on especially if its only you doing the pulling and it is easier to bolt back up before you drop it in especially if it is a manual transmission it makes quick work of aligning the clucth
