Well, I guess it all depends on the job and the money you'll be making from it. Personally, I think it's too uch. You need at least one day off for yourself.

Sometimes I work 7 days and more than 10 hours. I do remodeling and all facets of construction and I really do love what I do. I would rather be working than shopping for shoes LOL. If is is something that you really like doing, I don't think it is too much. When I worked 40 hours per week in corporate america, it wore me out. I did not think I was going to make it until Friday at 5. I am a 51 yr old woman. You have to decide for yourself what is too much and whether or not it is worth it for your health and for the money. Hope this helps a little.

I have known people who done this, they were aiming at getting something thing they wanted but after that it did take a toll on them and they had to take a certain amount of time off. But if you feel that you can handle it for a period of time then try it but dont try to do it on full time basis because it wont work, eight hours a day seven days per week might not be too bad.

I work these type of hours from the middle of August until Christmas. Then I get all kinds of time off ( 3 weeks at Christmas, Fridays off in the summer), so its well worth it. Some people can handle it, others can't....

kindly see my question now in the psychology section entitled

"What if we worked 4, not 5, days a week, at different times of day & night?"

i ask you to look that over because personally, i do not think that the people of this country work at all sensibly anymore. there is a very quiet movement starting to appear, mainly sponsored by physicians (on tv, in magazines, etc.) that points out that we are in a perpetual state of sleep deprivation. they say that our BRAINS (what runs everything about you) NEED 8 hours of sleep out of 24.

additionally, we should look at how europeans work. those in warmer climates get up early, have a huge breakfast, go to work, leave for lunch and a siesta, then go back to work after a light supper to work on into the late evening.

other workers in cooler climates work approximately 40 hours a week, but they get 2 to 3 months off in the summer, every summer, so that they can spend quality time with their families. their kids are far better behaved than american spoiled brats (spoiled with toys because neither parent has energy after all those hours of work to spend TIME on them), and all in all, they are healthier.

in my humble opinion, we are working ourselves to DEATH. stress is the number 1 cause of cancer. additionally, if you choose to work all these hours, there may come a time in your life that you will regret not doing all the fun things that you might have done if only you gave yourself time to LIVE.

i just hope you make the right decisions. ask yourself what your goals are. if they are only to make a lot of money and nothing else, why?

i also hope that americans will begin to change how they work in general. i think that all the anger that people display to others is a result of the foolish way we work ourselves to death.

stay healthy, and best of luck in your life.

that is too much. you need a break on weekends and you are supposed to sleep 6-10 hours a night. that leaves 14 hours, at least 8 of which you will be sleeping, at least an hour getting up and going to work and half an hour coming home, and your life is for work....

It depends on the type of job. Also, do you have a family like kids and a spouse? If you're a loner, it'd be a good way to kill time, but you'd never meet anyone. This is a pretty personal decision in the long run.

It all depends if you have a piece of the pie - stock options. If you think you might hit the jackpot - you can go like crazy like that for a few years. But if you're just doing it for wage (especially a low wage) - that sounds positively brutal.

If the money and your health etc. isn't worth working to the bone like that.
I think it's time for you to change your career, or find something that pays better/and less hours, and stress.

Don't know about too much to handle, but it really makes no sense. Especially on overtime, uncle sam will tax you to death! You'll never see the money you thoughth you were going to.
