Firstly the Falkland Island are a major stratigic base for the British armed forces. It gives us control of the seas in that area and a lauchpad for naval expeditions in the southern hemisphere.
Will they be a war? Only if the Argies make a mistake in trying to take them off us. Will Blair just come to an agreement over the islands with a view to sell? NOT A CHANCE. When we took them back in 82 the national pride soared and it won Margret Thatcher the election. It may come as a wake up call if it did and put a halt to the reductions of our forces and get rid of this myth we wont be fighting a conventional war again. HAS ANYONE IN GOVERNMENT HEARD OF CHINA, NORTH KOREA, IRAN? All these countries would fight a conventional war and are very likely to engage in one within 10 to 20 years.

I will assume that you are British here, one word, WHY? I have been there. Why would you want this place. It's about 1,000 little islands and two bigger ones (not that big), about 1,000 people, and 600,000 sheep, wind blown and out in BFE. If you guys had any brains you would sell it back to them! And I see Pablo has no clue as to geology and or this islands location!

It's the minerals in the sea surrounding the Falkland islands that is what they would protect.

I don't see how we could fight another one because, thanks to Blair & Co, we don't have a Navy nor do we have enough troops because they are fighting Blair's wars elsewhere.
