patchouli is a very unique scent...very sensual. Some people still use it and then others think its smells like body odor. It's just an individual preference. The Gap has a scent called Modern Patchouli.

Very popular with hippies and used quite commonly in the Renaissance days, but for those in the know...
Essential oil of Patchouli is quite an aphrodisiac...
it awakens the senses, calms, sooths,and evokes the feeling of comfort.

I completely associate pure patchouli with hippies and the '60s scene (pot, long hair, not bathing or shaving).

However, many upscale fragrances are using patchouli (Prada and Prada pour Home). It's okay in a blend and may be making a comeback.

Even if it is - pure patchouli = yuck!

that scent has only been labeled as a hippie scent i think. no, i dont think it is just a hippie scent. i think its nice.

I worked with a girl that wore patchouli. Most people called it her hippie perfume. LMAO it peeved her off like crazy.

No actually patchouli reminds me of the Renaissance. It has a very calming feel to it and is great for bath products.
